Moderation & Reports

Members report players or posts from the LFG post itself. The report arrives in your private reports channel with the reported player's history attached, so a moderator can judge it without asking around.

Reporting is only available once a reports channel is configured in /setup-server. Without one the report button doesn't appear.

Filing a report

The 🚩 Report button sits on LFG posts and on the post-game summary members receive by DM. It opens a single form:

  • Who — any player who was in the group, including people who already left. Several can be picked at once, which files a separate case for each. Leave it empty when the post itself is the problem.
  • Reason — spam or duplicate posts, filters that don't match, advertising, offensive text, harassment, cheating, griefing, voice chat abuse, scams, impersonation, NSFW behaviour, or Other.
  • Details — optional free text, required only for Other.

The group owner is marked with a crown in the player list.

What moderators see

Each report posts to the reports channel with:

  • Who was reported, by whom, the reason and any details
  • A jump link to the post the report came from
  • The record of the reported player on your server — earlier reports and how they were resolved, groups played and owned, likes received, how many times other owners banned them from a group, first and last seen, and account age
  • The reporter's own track record — how many reports they've filed and how many were dismissed, which makes a member who reports everyone visible
  • A transcript of the group's chat, attached as an HTML file, captured at the moment the report is filed so it survives the group closing

If the group belongs to another server on the LFG Network, that server's moderators receive the report too, with statistics from their own server.

Acting on a report

Three buttons:

  • Warn — DMs the player the reason. Nothing else changes. When the reported player owns the post, the button also removes the post and stops the search.
  • Restrict — blocks the player from creating LFG posts and voice channels on this server for 30 minutes, 12 hours, 1 day, 7 days, or permanently. They keep their membership and can still talk and join other people's groups. They're DM'd the reason and when it lifts.
  • Dismiss — closes the report with no action.

Every outcome is recorded against the case, so the next report about that player shows what happened last time.

A restriction expires on its own — nothing has to be run to clear it. To lift one early, use /pardon.

Looking things up

Moderator commands, hidden from regular members:

  • /lookup — a player's record, any active restriction, and their recent cases with the reported details
  • /case — one case in full: status, who handled it, any restriction, and the group's roster showing who owned it, who was banned from it, and how each member joined
  • /pardon — lift the restriction attached to a case

Who can moderate

The three commands are registered as Manage Server, so they're hidden from ordinary members. Acting on a report requires Ban Members or one of the moderator roles configured in /setup-server.

Discord bans are separate. The bot never removes anyone from your server — a restriction only limits what the bot will do for that player.
