Voice Channels

Voice channel automation is what makes the bot feel effortless. Members get a correctly-sized, well-named squad channel with zero manual setup, and channels clean themselves up when the session ends.

How squad channels are created

There are two ways a squad voice channel comes into being:

Join-to-Create

Joining a designated voice creator channel ("Join to Create") instantly spawns a fresh squad channel for that player — named from their chosen filters, with the right user limit, in the correct category. If the creator channel serves multiple games, the player gets a quick game-picker prompt first.

Auto-LFG channels

Any voice channel in a game's configured category (except channels with a user limit of 1) is automatically treated as a squad channel. No special action needed — drop members into the category and the bot manages the rest.

Channel ownership

  • The first real member of a channel becomes the owner (shown with a crown).
  • If the owner leaves, ownership transfers to another member after a short countdown, and members are notified.
  • Owners can kick a member; kicked users are blocked from rejoining that squad. Moderator roles are protected from being kicked.

Live member management

As players come and go, the bot keeps the public LFG message in sync:

  • When a squad fills, it locks and stops broadcasting.
  • If someone leaves a full squad that wanted more players, it resumes searching automatically.

Cleanup

  • Empty temporary squad channels are deleted after a timeout, so the server doesn't accumulate dead channels.
  • On startup, the bot reconciles stale channels and removes records for channels that no longer exist.

Permanent voice channels

Standing community voice channels are supported. A permanent VC is not deleted when it empties — instead its squad record resets for the next group, preserving the channel itself. This is useful for a "main hangout" voice room that should always exist.

Naming and categories

Server owners control:

  • Name pattern — the template used for auto-created channel names (set in the setup wizard).
  • Categories — separate categories for "searching" squads and squads that are "on a mission," so the channel list stays organized.

Music bots

When enabled, known music bots can join squad channels without counting as players, and an optional "Play Music" button appears when a music bot is present.

Premium voice controls

A few advanced controls — transfer ownership, lock/unlock the channel, and remove or raise the user limit — can be gated behind Premium. When gating is off, they're free for everyone.
