Discovery & Notifications
Groups fill faster when the right people find out about them. LFG Hub has several discovery tools that surface open squads to interested members — all opt-in and rate-limited so they never turn into spam. It also has a moderation reports channel and a feedback path.
Smart LFG Ping
When a squad is searching, the bot can ping a per-game role in the LFG channel so recently-active players know there's a group to join.
Members are only added to that ping role if they:
- are online,
- have opted into the game,
- haven't muted pings,
- played recently (within about 5 days), and
- weren't pinged in the last 12 hours.
There's a cooldown between pings (15 minutes in production), and members can opt out any time with a "don't ping me" button or from their notification settings.
Enable it: turned on per server in the setup wizard's Groups Discovery step, optionally scoped to a specific role. It's automatically disabled for very large servers (15,000+ members).
Smart DM Recommendations
When a member starts playing a tracked game (detected from their Discord presence), the bot can DM them the squads currently searching for that game — plus fresh "open to join" posts — with a one-click panel to start their own LFG.
- Only fires if they're not already in a voice channel.
- At most once every 8 hours.
- Can be limited to a specific role.
Enable it: per server in the setup wizard.
Managing notifications (members)
Each member has a personal notification-settings panel controlling game-start DMs, scheduled-event invites, and LFG pings. Muting quiets game-start DMs for 7 days. Everything is per-member, so people tune their own experience.
Reports channel (moderation)
When you set up LFG Hub, it creates a private, admin-only #lfg-reports channel. It serves two purposes:
- Member reports — a member can report an LFG post; the report lands here, mentioning your moderator roles, with Warn / Ban / Dismiss action buttons.
- Health alerts — the bot posts automated warnings here (for example, "my role is positioned too low" or "a category move broke permissions") with instructions to fix them.
If the channel is missing or the bot lacks permission to post, it falls back to DMing admins. Configure which roles count as moderators in the Server Settings step.
Feedback & help
/feedback and /help open a form (message plus optional file attachments) that reaches the LFG Hub team, tagged with who submitted it and from which server. Available to everyone, including in DMs.
News announcements
Occasionally the LFG Hub team pushes an announcement into every server's reports channel. As a server owner you're a recipient of these — there's nothing to configure.
