# Command Reference

This page lists every command the LFG Hub bot publishes to Discord, who can use it, and what it does.

## How permissions work

Each command is registered with a default permission level:

* **Admin-only** — the command requires the **Administrator** permission. By default only administrators see it. You can re-grant access to specific roles or members in Discord under **Server Settings → Integrations → LFG Hub**.
* **Moderator** — the command requires **Ban Members**, so it's hidden from ordinary members. To give a moderator role without Ban Members access, allow the role in Server Settings → Integrations.
* **Everyone** — available to all members.

Some commands also work in DMs; where it matters, it's noted below.

## Slash commands

### Everyone

#### `/lfg`

Create a group for a game and start looking for players — the slash equivalent of the **Create Group** button on LFG channel panels, usable in any text channel. This is the main, short command name; `/create-group` is the same command under its full name — both behave identically.

* **Access:** everyone · server only

* **Options:**

  | Option | Type | Required | Description |
  | ------ | ---- | -------- | ----------- |
  | `game` | String (autocomplete) | No | Games configured on the server, or the full game database if none are set up yet. Omit it to use the channel's configured game (or a game picker when several are configured). |

* **What it does:** After you pick a game you review your saved LFG filters (or step through the option wizard the first time), then the bot posts the LFG message, creates the private group thread, and starts matching players. On servers with an LFG channel configured for the game, the post goes there; otherwise it's posted right in the channel where you ran the command — **no setup required**.

* **Now or later:** the flow asks **Playing now or Schedule?** wherever both are available, so there is no separate scheduling command. See [Scheduling](/features/scheduling).

#### `/open-to-play`

Mark yourself **Open to Play** for a game — the slash equivalent of the LFG channel's Open to Play button. It was called `/open-to-join` before.

* **Access:** everyone · server only

* **Options:**

  | Option | Type | Required | Description |
  | ------ | ---- | -------- | ----------- |
  | `game` | String (autocomplete) | Yes | Games configured on the server, or the full game database if none are set up yet. |

* **What it does:** Posts your Open to Play card (with your filters) and registers you as an available player, so group owners can invite you and the bot can proactively pair you with other solo players. The card lands in the game's LFG channel when one is configured, otherwise in the channel where you ran the command. Availability expires automatically. See [Open to Play](/features/lfg#open-to-play-solo-availability).

#### `/feedback`

Send feedback or report an issue to the LFG Hub team.

* **Access:** everyone · works in DMs
* **Options:** none
* **What it does:** Opens a form with a required message box (up to 2000 characters) and an optional file upload (up to 5 files, e.g. screenshots). Use it to report a bug or suggest an improvement.

#### `/help`

Request help from the LFG Hub team.

* **Access:** everyone · works in DMs
* **Options:** none
* **What it does:** Opens the same form as `/feedback`. Use it when you need assistance with the bot.

### Admin only

#### `/setup-lfg-channel`

The main configuration wizard. **Optional but recommended** — members can already use [`/lfg`](#lfg) (or `/create-group`) and [`/open-to-play`](#open-to-play) without any setup, but running the wizard pre-configures which games players can create groups for in each channel and with which options, and a specific setup makes your server **discoverable to players across the [LFG Network](/features/network)**.

* **Access:** Administrator · server only

* **Options:**

  | Option | Type | Required | Description |
  | ------ | ---- | -------- | ----------- |
  | `game` | String (autocomplete) | Yes | Start typing to search the game database. |

* **What it does:** After you pick a game, you step through a multi-page wizard to make that game playable through the bot. See [Configuration](/guide/configuration) and [Games](/features/games) for a full walkthrough. In short, the wizard covers:

  1. **Game Options** — the LFG filters players pick when creating a group (platforms, group sizes, game modes, regions, languages, group chat type, and more).
  2. **Members Ping** — Smart LFG Ping and how pings are delivered.
  3. **DM Group Recommendations** — Smart DM Recommendations, optionally scoped to a role.
  4. **Server Settings** — LFG Network connection, role-to-filter mapping, moderator roles.
  5. **Voice Channel Settings** — the "searching" and "groups" categories, voice-channel naming, music bots.

  Run it again on an existing game to edit its configuration. Configure it as specifically as possible — the more precise your setup, the better your server is matched and recommended across the [LFG Network](/features/network).

#### `/setup`

A **status view** — not a setup step. You never need to run it to configure anything.

* **Access:** Administrator
* **Options:** none
* **What it does:** Shows an overview of LFG Hub on your server — how to set up (if you haven't), which features are currently on or off (Smart LFG Ping, Smart DM Recommendations), and which LFG channels are configured. Use it any time to check your current state; all actual configuration lives in `/setup-lfg-channel`.

::: tip Managing discovery features
Smart LFG Ping, Smart DM Recommendations, and the LFG Network connection are all managed **inside the `/setup-lfg-channel` wizard** — there are no standalone commands for these.
:::

### Moderator only

See [Moderation & Reports](/features/moderation) for how reports and restrictions work.

#### `/lookup`

Everything the bot knows about one player on your server.

* **Access:** Ban Members · server only

* **Options:**

  | Option | Type | Required | Description |
  | ------ | ---- | -------- | ----------- |
  | `user` | User | Yes | The player to look up. |

* **What it does:** Shows whether they're currently restricted and until when, their last 10 cases with the reason each was filed under and how it was resolved, and their record — earlier reports, groups played and owned, likes, how many times other owners banned them from a group, first and last seen, and account age. Each case links to its report's discussion thread.

The same record opens from **right-click a member → Apps → Moderation record**.

## Context-menu commands

These appear when you **right-click (or long-press) a message or user → Apps**. Responses are ephemeral — only you see them.

#### View Date Sent

* **Type:** message context menu · **Access:** everyone
* **What it does:** Shows the full date the selected message was originally sent.

#### View Date Joined

* **Type:** user context menu · **Access:** everyone
* **What it does:** Shows when the selected user joined the server (or, in a DM, when their Discord account was created).

#### Moderation record

* **Type:** user context menu · **Access:** Ban Members · server only
* **What it does:** The selected player's record, the same as [`/lookup`](#lookup).
